I drove the car for about two miles and the light came back on. I took it back to them and now they saying it's a bad fuel pump and bad fuel pressure regulator and it's gonna cost me to replace both as they are special order items. Their reason for this diagnosis is that they did a fuel pressure check and the pressure was between 40 psi and 45 psi. He said the proper pressure is Checked the forum and it seems that the specs he got are normal and 72 is just the peak output o the pump not operating.

Yours is a model I'm over 50 k alreadythe dealership tech is saying that it's so expensive because I have to change out the fuel tank to get to the fuel pressure sensor which is attached to the fuel tank. Ok so I am throwing the P Bank 2 too lean code as well as a gas smell that has progressively gotten worse over the last 3-weeks. This is not my first go around with the Banks running to lean.

Then just about 3-weeks ago the car threw the check engine light again and this time it was just Bank 2 is too lean. About this exact same time I started to notice a gas smell when starting and while driving the car. Twice I have also noticed what appears to actually be fuel that has leaked on my garage floor after the car being parked not a ton but enough to make me worry I reset the code after cleaning MAF and and doing a normal oil change, then it came back on about 4-days latter and the gas smell has progressively gotten worse.

I am at my ends wits!! Please any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Remove Advertisements. I would check the hoses on the Crankcase Ventilation Valve, these can cause the lean codes.

The error came back and now they are quoting me to replace the crankcase cover. From the last invoice, I could see that the dealer performed a CO2 test and vacuum test, the replacement of the MAF cleared the error, but after couple of days came back.

IF your gonna try to fix it yourself or have another shop look at it Make sure you use NON-Flammable brake kleen!!! With the engine running I would spray it around your valve cover. You might need to remove the fake valve cover four 6mm hex allens to reveal the spark plug coil packs and the real plastic valve cover underneath the fake cover.

Most common thing would be a leaking oil fill cap. Take a good look at the rubber gasket for it. Maybe try another cap. Do you have any oil leaks? I would think IF your valve cover is leaking at idle any whistling noises? So look for oil leaks.

The car rpms jump up and down and sometimes make a loud whistle noise.

Both of these symptoms aren't always present, most of the time it drives perfect. I'm getting frustrated since the dealer were no help.

Is it the crankcase valve? The dealer said that if it is the crankcase valve that the valve cover need to be replace since its now integrated in the valve cover.

Is that true? Also my car was previously flooded a few months ago, not sure its related or not. Appreciate 0.

This is the second time it's done that. I'm worried that somehow this will damage the engine. I don't know what to fix and neither does the dealership lol.
